Cell Phone Policy

Below, please find the current P.S. 51 Q cell phone policy, as well as the policy for computing devices and portable music and entertainment systems.  

Students are permitted to bring cell phones, or any other electronic devices such as iPods, MP3 players, PSP, Nintendo DS, etc., provided that they do not use these devices during school hours (including field trips and afterschool programs) or on school property.  Cell phones and other devices should remain in the students’ bags at all times.  

Consequences for violating the above policy may include 1) warning the student to immediately put away the item 2) confiscating the item and returning it at dismissal 3) confiscating the item and returning it to a parent/ guardian at a meeting 4) confiscating the item and returning it after the student enters into a behavioral contract 5) revocation of privileges.
